Yosemite National Park, CA
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: There's so much! The beach near Swinging Bridge is awesome for little ones with a huge sandy area and shallow patches of the Merced River to splash around in. We love sipping hot chocolate in front of the Ahwahnee's huge fireplaces and getting sprayed at the base of Yosemite Falls. Everywhere you look there's something beautiful to be explored.Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Take the shuttle. Yosemite has a free shuttle that runs throughout the valley floor, with stops at many of the points of interest. You can ride the entire loop or hop on and off at any of the sites. Our daughter loves looking for deer and other wildlife in the meadows as the shuttle drives through the valley.
Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: We bring along our daughter's favorite blankie and her special lovie, Froggie, so she's surrounded by the smells and comforts of home.
An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: A good stroller and a new kid's music CD for the drive. Our little one is partial to Laurie Berkner, the Princess and the Frog soundtrack or the soundtrack from The Wizard of Oz.
