Our Fav Flash Deal Sites for Tech

Apparently the holidays are only 11 weeks away, which means it's time to start making lists of all the tech goodies you'd like. It also means there might be a flaming hole in your wallet and/or bank account quite soon. Black Friday deals are famously good, but what if you could be getting excellent deals early? We're sure you've heard of flash deals before, if nothing else than that newfangled Groupon. But we have a few other favorites here at Unpluggd for our devices and accessories.

Woot
The most famous of the deal sites, Woot's one day, one deal structure has expanded from electronics through tshirts and wine. Known for its clever writing and the fire-sale-like Woot-off in which a new product pops up every time one is sold out, Woot is a great way to find a deal on devices, tech and the occasional goofy gadget.

There are tons of websites, programs and widgets dedicated to alerting you to Woot's daily deal, and especially to Woot-offs. And their forum shows up like a ticker feed to the right of the product, giving you further information by other Wooters; it's definitely worth a look. In fact, there's a Woot-off going on right now. Save us a bag of crap (the item that always ends a Woot-off)!

Fab
This relatively new flash deal site focuses on beautifully designed products. Much of their deals involve home goods, but they often feature some of the best looking devices, cases, and accessories around. You must have an account to see their list of deals, which often last a few days. Each set of deals is organized by the company that produces them. Some are just a couple products, others for a whole slough of things. Good things tend to go fast though so you have to have a quick clicker finger. Once you've signed up you can opt receive an email of the new deals each day. Their new pop-up shop feature is also one of the best ways to see a list of curated products.

Curisma
Curisma focuses on community involvement to choose products that people want. Members post goods from across the web that they find interesting, unique, functional and for-sale or pre-sale. Curisma then learns what you and others like and uses that data to produce deals (currently on Monday and Wednesday) that you actually want. With many other sites you'll often find the deal isn't for you; community involvement and learning ideally would solve this. But as Curisma is still in Beta we'll save our judgements until see how much the full system adds to our deal experience.

Amazon
Yep, even Amazon's in on the daily deal madness. Their Gold Box deals features a deeply discounted product each day. The retailer also has a list of "lightning deals" that open up at certain times each day. While we tend to watch the other sites more, these deals seem to get really good during the holiday season, especially Black Friday.

Any sites that you use that we left out? Share the savings in the comments.
