Room For Color entries are like snowflakes — every one is unique and beautiful in its own way. Still, there are a few common threads running through the most favorited entries. Here are a couple of the trends we've spotted:
Deep Saturation: We're seeing so many gorgeous, rich hues this year — people are definitely not shying away from bold color! Colors we keep seeing include fuschia, teal, cobalt blue, navy blue, charcoal and golden yellow.
Filtered Neutrals: The counterpoint to the saturation trend is restful rooms in hazy colors. Pale grays, mossy greens and tea-stained creams work are sweet and sophisticated in an industrial loft or a cozy farmhouse.
Bold Combinations: People are playing with color, decorating rooms with a handful of colors instead of just one or two. It's inspirational to see these risks paying off again and again, showing us that there's always "room for color!"

I'm really dissapointed with the 4 category winners! With so many beautiful, colourful rooms, I think the top 4 were dull.
I agree. Which rooms were your top finalists? I wish comments hadn't been disabled on the posts announcing the finalists and winner. Now people are posting comments r/t their disappointment on the individual entries' posts. Here are my top five...

Which was your entry Comicbookheroine? :)
I especially agree with dagney's and peacock rooms--they were great. But I do agree here that the International winner is great. It may be dark, but that's a preference issue. Loved it!
I so agree with cobbler shop home. The finalists would have been my last choices. Very frustrating to see so many fantastic entries and then have such dull and lackluster places make the finals. Not impressed. Don't like to be negative but I need to vent.
Definitely agree with comicbookheroine's choice of International entry - it was really so much better than the rest (IMHO) and such a great showcase of colour celebration.
My entry was not one of my favorites as I was in awe of most of the competition! Here's a link: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/christines-kitsch-conservatory-room-room-for-color-contest-178739
