Scandinavian Modernism at SFO

We mentioned earlier this week that we spent a few hours at the SFO International terminal last weekend. We kicked it at the SFMOMA gift shop for a good hour and then headed to the waiting area to hunker down with the paper and a few snacks. Good plans, but we never made it that far because we became mildly distracted by the awesome Scandinavian Modernism exhibit set up in the display cases... We knew that SFO had been working on spiffing up the place and was building their art installation collection, but we didn't expect to see such a fine exhibit of iconic furniture and ceramics. We were pleasantly impressed and barely managed to wipe up our pools of drool before our friends staggered out from the gates to find us pressed up the glass trying to figure out how to stuff a Wegner chair in our purse.... Check it out for yourself, just a quick BART ride away!

Scandinavian Modernism: In Pursuit of Function and Beauty is located pre-security in the International Terminal Main Hall, and is on view twenty-four hours a day through October 26, 2008.
