JoeQ is selling an investment piece. He's an orange kinda guy, maybe you're a red kinda guy or gal. And an design aficionado - that always makes laying out this kind of cash a bit more palatable. If so, this Saarinen Womb Chair is just the kind of investment any kind of vintage modern fan would want to make. -MM

Are there other chairs out there, new or vintage, that look a lot like a womb chair? In particular, foam + upholstery over molded shell with metal legs? I love the womb chair, but would love to find a less popular alternative. Any ideas?
Why is $1900 a bargain, when it's $2200 NEW at Highbrow and others? HMMMM.
Sharon - a nice (but more expensive) alternative is Pierre Paulin's Oyster chair, from Artifort.
Thanks Peter, I do love that one!
Crafto, I'm with you. I don't think this is necessarily a bargain. You can get it for $2200 brand spanking new in your choice of colors. If this chair is in mint shape, and you live in NY, and you want red, and you don't want to wait on the chair to ship, I guess this deal is okay but still not fantastic.
