Size doesn't matter. We don't like armoires in New York apartments because they usually take up too much room and end up as a hiding place for junk, rather than a good storage solution, HOWEVER, every now and then we see one we like.
This antique Tibetan armoire/cupboard is a beautiful piece of furniture at a good price. You will still need a big space for this, but it will be worth looking at (with Asian pieces check all the joints and doors to make sure everthing is square and will close. With travel and changes in humidity the wood can shift tremendously). (Thanks, Craig!) MGR OTHER GOOD STUFF - Pine armoire from Door Store for $200 (this one is tolerable too) - Sort of heinous, but very practical solid oak armoire, dresser for $280 - Black lacquer Asian trunk for $140 - Antique Danish oak table for $375 - Nice trad cherry dining chairs for $20 each (only has two) - Nice, simple blond wood console for $50 - Cherry dining table for $200 - Vintage twin headboard for $25
