This 6-foot-long George Smith Sofa is all hand-made and has cushions stuffed with down. The fabric on this sofa is in fair condition, so it may need to be reupholstered, but we're told even that would still put you way under what it would cost to buy it new. Is that true? Not sure. Umm, maybe I'm missing something but $2,000 for what looks like a lumpy, over stuffed 80's couch, in fair condition. No thanks. I see that it is hand sewn, stuffed with down, and was uber expensive when it was new, but i'm still not impressed but again maybe theres something I don't know.
I misread it as "$200" for that sofa! It's just about my favorite style of sofa and we DESPERATELY need to replace ours, and I was THIS CLOSE to renting a van and hoofing it to NY, but $2,000? That's ridiculous.

So, I did some research on George Smith, and according to their website, similar sofas retail for at least 10,000 new - some even upwards of 15,000 or more. Kind of crazy. So, by that standard, $2000 seems like a good deal, albeit still expensive.
oh no, I understand that they are priced outragously when new. I guess it just isn't something I would consider at any price as it isn't my style but i'm sure someone would be glad to snap up this "bargain"
