Is it just me or does this remind you of Wall•E?
I KNOW EH!?
I was just going to write that.
Wall*E aside, isn't this thing hideous? I'm sure someone here could do a much nicer job making their own...
This site has real vintage industrial carts for a fraction of Restoration Hardware's prices. Some are left in the original condition and others have been restored. They ship anywhere in the US and are great to work with.

Am I missing something or is this a basic wood pallet with a couple four-dollar brackets to reinforce, and some castors under it? Total cost maybe thirty dollars? Am I being stupid?
Uhh.....it's one thing to take a trunk or whatever and some hardware and make a funky coffee table.....it's another thing entirely to pay a small fortune to just buy a mass-produced one, lol
I'd hate to smack my foot into that, OUCH.
Its for people that want to add rustic / industrial to their house without having to be afraid of the dirt or spiders that might come with this type of furniture! Plus its a lot easier to buy this than make it. I've tried!
Awful. Ugly. and then some.
"Oh, this old thing, why I just found it in this run down warehouse and I thought, oh my, wouldn't this be just the most charming coffee table!"
The protruding wheels are sure toe-breakers.

I don't like the look of this, but yes, if you can find those brackets for 4 dollars or the wheels underneath it for $30 just by themselves.... yes you are just being stupid. Heck at your calculation of $4 brackets, since there are 4 corners, that is $16, over half of your "quoted" price...
So although it is fugly, and pricey, it would not be THAT cheap to make...
fugly? huh?
methinks you live in a very narrow world of what home decor is.
