It was only a matter of time before Ptoo made his debut in the Scavenger column. His friends are trading in sophisticated rusticity for a more modern look, and this gorgeous chandelier is a casualty of the process. It's definitely a BBF (big, beautiful fixture), so make sure your space can handle the ample curves (34" diameter) of its 12 bulbs. -MM

Hey Molly... I've been on here before.. this is just my first foray into sales commission!! :)
That sewing desk/table? entry isn't actually either. My mom used to have one just like that... it's actually a typewriter stand. You know, a typewriter.. that thing very few of us use any more.
Ptoo-- Funny, I was wondering what was taking you so long...guess I'm just a little fuzzy headed from last night ;)
Daily Nuance -- I KNEW it. I was going to say something in the post, but my general policy is that if the title of the craigslist post is generally accurate, (title of post is a table, they're selling a table inside the post), I leave it alone.
Molly: I wasn't criticizing you for listing it as a sewing desk/table and can understand why you left the heading as the poster had made it. I was just commenting that the original poster on Craigslist hadn't quite correctly identified what they're selling.
Goodness, I want to take that typing stand and paint it parrot green!
I'd have no use for it afterwards. I just think it needs to be done.
D.N. - argh...the frustration of no tone of voice in the written word! I gotcha the first time, no worries. What's even more frustrating than a mislabeled furniture piece is when there's a great find, but it's 70's mislabled as deco, etc., and I have to post it knowing it's not labled correctly by the seller.
Wende - I'll take it after you paint it (not green, but cobalt blue, hi-gloss finish) and use it as a plant stand in front of the window, with capacity to add more pots of various scale to those adjustable leaves...
and, scavenger girl - your very own mother sat at one of those things to work at her "away from college semester" to earn funds for that trip to europe...shudder
