I love finding niche and vintage furniture off of Craigslist. If you take the time to look in your area, you can really find some awesome pieces. I think it's good to mix old/unique/cheap furniture with some modern contemporary furniture. It gives the room a nice balance between old and new. A lot of times, people come in my house and they can't tell what I've spent a good deal of money on and what I grabbed off Craigslist or at goodwill. Those pieces are hard to come by, but well worth the effort!
