The summer travel season may be wrapping up, but it's never too soon to start thinking about next year! By then, the new Sealander Amphibious Camping Trailer will be available. Yep, that's right - it's an adorable camping trailer that doubles as a boat…

The Sealander had me with its cute design but the more I learn about it, the more I think it may be a city dweller's best alternative to a traditional camper. If only it didn't carry such a steep price tag, I'd be in line for one today!
The camper unit is small enough to be pulled behind a small car (it's shown being pulled by a little hatchback on the company's website) and converts from two bench seats to a bed. With its little white shell and tinted windows, it's an adorable little camper that will appeal to the design conscious. But wait - there's more! If you feel like taking a little spin out on the lake, just hop in your Sealander and float on. The waterproof chassis and wide bowl shape of this little camper makes it a stable little boat.
The Sealander will reportedly be available in 2012 and will carry a price tag of roughly $20,000. Hey, you didn't think it would be cheap, did you? It's a camper/trailer/boat — of course it's going to be a little spendy!

Interesting exercise in multitasking... but I'll keep my vintage Airstream (cost half that) and canoe, thanks.
What a cool toy!
I want one! :D
With a total of 380 kg it looks a bit to light to swim rather stable ...
I would be afraid that it will capsize.
Cute! I love the idea, but doesn't seem very practical. Of course, if you can afford one of these, practicality probably isn't your main concern....
Why does it have to carry such a hefty price tag though? It doesn't have to do it all either. Nice idea, but not practical or affordable.
