Q: I've recently signed a lease for my first apartment, so I have a bit of a clean slate in terms of decorating. I found a picture on Pinterest that encompasses everything I'd want my living room to be, and I already have a sofa that closely resembles the one in the picture. I'd really love to find the accent pillows shown in the picture (or something similar), but the photo wasn't sourced and didn't link to anything.

I'd like to find the original source of the photo or get some suggestions on where I can find similar accent pillows.

Google "vintage pillow".
If the above doesn't work out, make them. You dont' even need to know how to sew. You get the fabric, iron on hem tape and make an 'envelope' that opens in the back to insert pillow of choice size.
Just measure, fold the fabric over leaving 2-3" longer on one side so you have enought to cover pillow.
Good luck
Seems like you will have a harder time finding that giraffe.
PS if you have a problem with sourcing out a photo, right click on it, copy the image url, and go to Google. If you click on the images search, there should be a little camera. If you click on that and paste in the image url, Google will find what websites the image is on.
You can find similar ones for the very left pillow by searching "suzani pillow" on etsy.com. It looks to be that type of pattern. When you search for things like this it helps to describe it as best you can. For example the right yellow one has a geometric pattern so you could search "yellow geometric pillow". Hope this helps.
Good tip Stephanie - Thanks!
Oh, and make sure that the images you post to Pinterest link back if you don't know who the image is sourced to or you can get in trouble for copywrite infringement.
I'm not sure how this site gets away with the practice.
Now that I've spent an hour reading that f***your noguchi coffee table tumblr, I can't look at one of these pictures without thinking of it.
That pillow on the left is a suzani pattern, as L.Tor mentioned, but it appears to be done in crewel embroidery with wool yarn (suzanis are cotton and/or silk) and the colors are definitely not traditional suzani. Wiilliams Sonoma Home did a line of crewel work like that a few years ago, in those pastel colors.
That giraffe is sweet.
...on second look, that may be printed fabric and not embroidery. Hard to tell.
It's not the same, but the colors on the left pillow remind me of the Amy Butler "Optic Blossom" pattern, in Linen. You could probably find someone on Etsy to make if for you if you didn't want to DIY.
Also try searching "medallion," here's some similar:

Lots of beautiful pillows in this etsy shop, I've coveted them for a long time http://www.etsy.com/shop/WhitlockandCo
Etsy for sure. Also West Elm frequently uses those colors.
You might replicate the left-most pillow with a vintage scarf in the right colors. Make a backing with a plain color.
This is from a spread on Tamara Kaye-Honey's home. She's got a design firm, so you could email her and ask her. Worth a shot.
Definitely Etsy! I just use the boring old pillows that came with my sofa and buy new covers in the right sizes when I get bored. It's a great way to save money, and buying Etsy products means that they aren't the same as everyone else's. :)
I have gotten some nice ones at World Market. The key for me is REMOVABLE cases so you can have them cleaned or switch covers later.
Target actually has a gray flotake pillow for less than $20.00.

I want that couch!
I re-decorated my own living room at the first of the year (also using a photo I found as inspiration). I love your inspiration living room by the way! When I wanted to get my pillows I turned to Etsy.com. Best decision I ever made!! I found exactly what I wanted (they possibly have EVERYTHING). They are also super durable, the best pillow covers I have ever purchased. Ever. Machine washable. And although I paid a bit more than I would at any other store I am so glad I did as these pillow covers will last me! I also went there and searched for your pillows and found some really great alternatives!! Good luck and I hope you share the after pictures!!!
