i'm almost voting awesome on every entry because i think it's great that everyone is using art in their home, but placement is very important. i really like the art/floral arrangements as well as how cool and welcoming your home seems.

Fantastic! I love all the choices you've made. Really lovely and welcoming, but with a nice stylish edge... Tell me more about the throw on the white sofa. (I think I need to track one down for myself.) The 2 side chair are gorgeous. Also, would really love to see more of that wallpaper wall--so cool.

3 months? You're workin' a pretty great look pretty dang fast if you've done this in 3 months. You're just gonna have to update us eventually, because we're just gonna have to see where you go from here.

I like the idea of something as tight, small and busy in a wonderful Heironymous Bosch kind of way as that wallpaper collage, when you're in a tight hallway, kind of like when people put family photos in those kinds of spaces -- because you really couldn't stand back far enough to see anything much larger, anyway.

Because then, when you enter that big wash of white in the living room, it must feel very nice.

That wallpaper is the shizzle, yo.

Can you tell us where you got the lamp in the living room? I've been looking for something that won't compete with the artwork I have over my sofa, but will still give good light.

I echo others' comments on the armchairs...gorgeous! I like the wallpaper and letters, too...very much up my alley.

By the way, if there were something called "E-gel" I'm imagining something like a setting in Photoshop where it makes photos of people's hair look shinier with more body. He he he he.

Anyway, I think it looks great on the wall, kind of like that kitchen with the Bodoni Bold letters which recently got painted yellow, which I also loved.

I am all about that wallpaper. Did you plan out the arrangement or did it just happen organically?

Ok , FIRST thanks for the nice comments. I was so afraid to send in my pics and you guys are great and now on to the questions...

The arm chairs: I love them too.... They are actually a funny story. I got them on EBAY Germany from Cologne for ( I swear I am not making this up) 6 euros, plus 50 bucks for a car rental to pick them up... My plan had been to reupholster them in White Faux Ostridge, but then I won another auction for an INCREDIBLE pair of Grete Jalk Arm chairs with the original leather.... so I put off the reupholstery project and tossed a couple of throw pillows on these guys until I come up with the dough. I think they are going to end up in my bedroom.

The Throw: Petty Larsony. I was on an Air France flight from NYC to Frankfurt and I fell in love with the in flight blanket.... so I stuffed it in my carry on. No, I had no remorse.

Wall paper wall: I wish I could take a better photo, but it is a hallway and there is no way to get farther away from it. It started out organic, then it got too crazy, so I put it all down on the floor one Sunday afternoon and redid it.

Lamp: Really good Flea Market find here in Frankfurt. 20 bucks. I think I might start taking pics at the flea market here and posting them in the flicker bar.

Thanks for the info. I'm often in Germany myself, in the Düsseldorf/Cologne area, but will be visiting Frankfurt during my next trip (sometime in April). Where and when is the flea market? I'll try to take a look when I'm there. I miss the 26th Street flea market here in New York.

Cindy- the flea market is every sat. from 9am-3 along the Main river on the Sachsenhausen side. there is quite a bit of shit and some lovely diamonds in the rough.
Let me know if you are going. I'm there every weekend and we could do brunch... I also bet the Cologne has an amazing flea market somewhere.... the design there is through the roof and has been for some time.

Minh-They are actually 2 big floor cusions. they look better in person, didn't photgraph well. they are tan faux ostridge.
I just picked up the branches from the ground in the park, it was trimming day.

Kristian, it is lovely to put a home with your name and your words, which have lent some interesting color to AT over the last few weeks.

Your wallpaper project is delightful. I have amassed lots of paint samples and Formaica/solid surface samples and other bits and pieces of interesting colors and textures.

Your hallway has made me think of ways to lay it out and enjoy it. Thank you!

Kristian. If you end up taking Air France on your trip to LA, could you be convinced to "acquire" another one? I love the soft gray color and knowing that the Air France logo is screened onto it makes me want the blanket even more!

Love it. It looks very fresh and original -- I'm always drawn to typography, too. The wallpaper samples are a great idea, and really lovely.

You've piqued my curiosity about the rest of the apartment. . . hint, hint.

I love how you used the piece of lab glassware as a vase. What does it look like from the opposite view? If it has a round bottom how are you keeping it upright? I am a chemist and have collected some glassware and always thought i could use it for decor. Your idea is very clever and chic!
