Whenever I feel I've experienced all the charms San Francisco has to offer, I pay a little visit to zakka news, and am reminded of all the fascinating things to be found in this city and in my own home...
Created by Miki Usui, zakka news from san francisco contains page after page of lovely objects carefully photographed under our foggy skies. It's incredibly soothing to look through, as Miki captures the beauty of local produce, Trader Joe's frozen foods, handcrafted gifts, San Francisco signs & sights, gorgeous Japanese objects, and American items so ubiquitous they're practically invisible.
- I'm definitely most affected & calmed by the local specialties, appreciating once again San Francisco's wonders, like (clockwise from top left) locally grown Buddha's hand ("funny citrus"), Green Apple Books bag, "various apples", Blenheim apricot jam, "the best salsa sauce in SF" from Papalote, and monthly Muni tickets.
- Other favorites include "the French Laundry's ribbon", "California milk", dessert wine from Napa, salt & pepper packets, a Mission dance studio, and a San Francisco skyline card.
Miki recently moved to Japan and just announced the launch of zakka news from tokyo, leaving behind 55 pages of San Francisco images, plenty to last until her next visit.
