Selle Chair by Casamidi

Down in San Miguel de Allende, Anne-Marie and Jorge of Casamidi continue to blaze their own trail. They have put together a new collection of furniture based on the doors of the VI arrondisement of Paris.

The collection is called Rue Conde, and these side chairs are simple called Selle. Available in raw, saddle and black leather painted or in chrome, this chair has a severe and vintage elegance to it that we've not seen anywhere else.

while i think it works as a piece of sculpture can this really be comfortable to sit in? i feel pain in my back just looking at it.

I've always felt that the doors in the 5th arrondisement offered more lumbar support.

ugh. May be nice to look at (and that's debateable) but echo the views above, who would want to sit in one of those for more than 5 minutes?!?! They look torturous!

the site is a little clunky, but check out their mirrors and lanterns. They also have some cool chairs and leather tables.

Buyers beware! The products look great - and the website gives the impression of a very professional company. Seems it operates more how you might expect being Mexico - we have waited weeks upon weeks for a simple tray for a photo shoot (that has now past) - first "ready to ship" in Sept, then again in October and then again in Nov. yet it never arrived and you cannot get anyone to answer the phones, reply to fax, nor email. The sucess I had was sending an email to a once sister company only to be told that the tray would ship in three days time. Still nothing including the simply courstey extended to professional manf. and rep to provide a tracking no. I will report back if the tray ever arrives.
