What do you think about recognizing your friends by sending them Mother's Day cards this year? If you like the idea, you still have time to get them in the mail.
We found this idea at Everyday Celebrating, and at first we thought it a bit strange to send someone who's not your mother a Mother's Day card.
But...when we thought it over, it's a really nice idea. If your kids are babies or young toddlers, they're not exactly giving you a card or flowers themselves. We see the mothers in our circle up close as they're caring for their children and it'd be nice to receive some recognition from the people who know firsthand just how challenging mothering can be.

for my first mother's day, the ONLY cards i got were from friends. grrr.....
oh MAN, I work full time, go to school partime and have a 23month old. Where would one find the time to write any cards - i don't know. That's why I limit card sending to once a year, it is original art by me, and all family and friends get one copy of the limited edition...
I *love* this idea and am off to do it right now!!
I always try my best to send a mother's day card to a friend who is celebrating her first one. I think it's an additional way to make her feel special and usually there are only one or a few new Mamas each year so that little bit of time I think it takes means alot.
I am sending several, especially to friends for whom Mother's Day is a hard day. Here is how to make some cute "tattoo inspired" Mother's Day cards...

I didn't do mother's day cards but I try to send cards during the first year of motherhood for friends. Usually when they return back to work (if they do) or just a few months down the road. I figure that the first year is hard and sometimes it's nice to get a little note out of the blue saying "thinking of you and hoping you're doing OK"
