Although it's been many years since we went back to school in September, the rhythm of a child's year, with summer reprieve and autumn buckledown, will be forever imprinted on us.
So we're pretty happy about buckling down for our September theme: what we're calling here in SF "Nursery+." This means creating a nursery...plus the whole-home transition, the one that a baby makes inevitable. (See Friday's post for a mini-manifesto on this).
We plan to have a lot of fun with this topic, and you can help us out by sending in your questions, queries, suggestions, and solutions. What have you done to make a home for your kids that has worked beautifully or failed miserably? Email us, or just post to flickr and tag with apartmenttherapysanfrancisco. We'll find you there.
Contests are on hold until October, when we segue into the annual fall color bonanza, but you can always start mixing hues now...

Yeah! Thanks for starting this topic (although from the look of that poll, no one on this site has kids....)
My tip: Buy shelving or storage units with doors because no matter how tidy you think you are... kid crap will overwhelm you. You need doors so you don't have to look at it. We got a couple of simple (modern looking) dressers at IKEA, lined them up against one wall, and put all the kids' toys in there. Amazing how much they fit.
