Oh my god I NEED this house! Please let me have it.
this is ultimate perfection. where are those two beautiful pendants from?
Please invite Greg Natale on a vacation here.

It's nice architecturally, but rather cold for my tastes - I would think that in Sweden, the interiors would have been made purposefully warmer and cozier to deal with the long, cold winters - I don't see a single cozy spot in there. I would imagine that with in the middle of February it could feel like an igloo in there...
...and the way those livingroom draperies are hung on a cable below the tops of the windows is just odd - like they're suspended in midair by skyhooks or something - clearly an afterthought. I'm not certain that they're even necessary.
bepsf- it's a "summer house", it don't need to be cozy! I would like to believe this house wants you to be naked, not wearing a snuggy!
Thanks to automatic for the source on the pendant...I will now enter a mental debate with myself on whether to purchase it at the $475 total price tag!
Looks really nice - I could def see myself living there.
I'm not sure how warm Sweden gets in the summer, but that black exterior cannot be good for cooling the inside temperature.
Thank you, AT! I fell in love with this house when I saw a couple of pictures published in an article on a local magazine in my country, but hardly found anything else about it, until now. The house is designed by swedish architect Anna von Schewen.
Strange how people see different things in the same images, I find the place cozy and warm. The living room has views to the lake from two sides, and a beautiful dark forest all around, I would never resign that sight. And the wires holding the courtains seems part of the design of the big wooden windows to me, not and afterthought at all. Anyway, it´s my opinion only.
Absolutely perfect.
do swedish people not use or need pillows?
i should also note that i know some scandinavians who built a summer home in western MA and it is pretty much the same aesthetic inside and out - very dark gray on the outside, and very white, sparse, clean, and functional on the inside. it works really well, but i know they use pillows because i've stayed there.
oh my gosh i want to move in!
A bigger squashy sofa and this would be perfect.
that is a beauty :-) imagine a long bright summer evening in this … gorgeous.
(i guess not everybody is fond of pillows … i often feel that on a lot of pictures on AT there are far too many of them around. didn't even notice there are none here :-D but it doesn't have anything to do with their being Swedish, i think.)
I usually love lots of color, but what a wonderful space for a summer retreat. Very easy on the eyes and I'm guessing on the soul, too.
the pillows are covered by the top cover!
-great home!...I live in sweden also...in a traditional red cabin...but not soo traditional inside....you can se under category "hos oss" b4 and after photos from my home :) --welcome!
Beautiful!!!!!
