Serge Mouille (1922-1988) studied to be a silversmith in Paris and ran a metalworking studio. In the fifties, he began designing beautiful lighting fixtures, which are being produced again today as a licensed re-edition by his wife at Editions Serge Mouille. We appreciate the strong sculptural aspect to the lamps - they bring much more to a room then just a source of illumination. They somehow have a kinetic feel, reminding us of Alexander Calder's work. We'd love to own one someday. The re-editions are available in Chicago through Morlen Sinoway. Update: We just heard that a new book on Serge Mouille will be coming out in Spring 2008.
