It's really rare to find a workstation this uncluttered. Although Serge uses an old school corded Microsoft Intellimouse, the rest of his setup is really beautiful. We like how sparse and minimal his whole desk looks. All in all, it's an inspiration.
Serge works from home and says that he stares at these monitors for about 16 hours a day. He's got a total of three monitors. Two Samsung F2080 panels on the right, and a Samsung 710n TN on the left. The two newer panels are set up for 1600×900 and act as one large monitor, making movie viewing really great.
He says that he uses the monitor on the left to instant message, Skype, and see streaming stock quotes. It's true that having a Twitter or Facebook tab open in a dedicated monitor like this makes a lot of sense. His computer is a PC and comes with a Lian-Li aluminum case. He runs Windows 7 Ultimate with 4GB of RAM. He uses an Apple MB110LL aluminum USB keyboard that has a numeric keypad. His mouse pad is a RatPadz and he strongly recommends it.
Serge has got a server cabinet in the garage that houses his network attached storage (NAS). On it, he's got 3×1TB hard drives using a RAID 5 configuration. Sound is provided by a Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 Dolby Digital 5.1 system, with 3 speakers on the desk. The rear speakers are mounted on his crown molding behind the chair. The subwoofer has been positioned underneath his desk. Serge also takes some wicked photos.
