I am so enamoured with this idea. I really hate clutter and am always looking for ways to organize things in a stylish way. I will definitely do this when I have kids!

I've always done this with my kids with only the really good stuff that they've done. Now my teenager is in the art program at her school and I have some really nice work on my walls!

I love this! Even as an adult, my parents still have artwork from my childhood framed in their home. It's so personal to them, and made me proud as a peacock when I was a kid. I can't wait to create a gallery for my flock o' little ones! Lovely ideas!

I can see the second one working in some of my friends homes - you know, one of those houses that is clearly for living in, where people don't put too much emphasis on what things are for when they are sold in the shops, but think about what they DO. Where the kids are just another set of people living there, like it's a share house.

I don't see anything wrong with the 2nd photo (art on canvas) How whimsical and fun to display a large piece of children's art on the wall--it's graphic, colorful, truly one-of-a-kind, and inexpensive. It could also be rotated to hang vertically to give more room to hang some photos or other coordinating objet d'art on the wall. Love it!

Two framed paintings done by our now 23-yr old daughter, back when she was in nursery school, hold pride of place in our livingroom. I would not trade them for anything.

I have several pieces of my children's art framed. In fact, my kitchen has two large black frames with black backing to mat pieces and storage in the back of the frame for other art. I rotate the art every few months. It makes me smile and my kids are very proud to have their art displayed in such a manner.

I'm so surprised people don't like this! I guess I'm one of those people for whom the home is for living, and whose children are equal members of the household. I have a ton of my childrens' art up, and I love it. It really means something to me and everyone in my home, and my children feel a tremendous sense of pride in having their work displayed on the wall.

I will say, however, that mine is not very fancily displayed, and I'm definitely on the hunt for a better way to display it.

I like this idea! My parents have a drawing or painting from each of us five children on the walls in their main living area, except they are all in cheap poster frames and poorly matted. Maybe I will have them reframed as a Christmas present for my parents.

Thanks for featuring this. I do truly love displaying my children's art in the home, as do many of my clients...it's personal, it's real and it makes the children feel that the home reflects them and their interests as well as the adult occupants.

Oooh, love love LOVE! We are about to move into our first home and my little 3 year old is a prolific little artist. I can't wait to make an art wall for her!

My aunt did this. In her home, she has had my cousin's childhood artwork professionally framed. Now that my cousins are 18 and 14 years old, it's a beautiful sentimental touch. She inspired me to do the same someday when I have children.

Janell, I think it's wonderful. It's also a great way to encourage creativity and risk-taking for kids. It's one thing to ooh and ah over something your child draws, but framing & displaying with pride really sends a strong message imo.

we display tons of our kids' artwork (and our own, and that of our friends). very little is framed though . . . i don't mind sticking it up with tape, magnets or thumbtacks. the real treasures do get a more permanent home, but i guess i enjoy being able to frequently update, to take something down and give it to a friend who stopped by, whatever. and i like putting up massive amounts of it without the expense of framing everything!

awesome! some of my favorite canvases to work on are when we put childs artwork on canvases ...well done!
