Don't worry George, we're as confused as you are. The whole format war between HD DVD and Blu-Ray is beginning to look all for naught with the glut of set top boxes entering the market, bringing standard def and HD content directly into the living room. Pencil in one more: the Myka is a BitTorrent fed, Linux powered set top box that Wired just revealed will be entering the fray very soon, joining the wild west of set top boxes all vying to become the standard in living rooms throughout the country. Which one to choose? Your guess is as good as ours for now...

I would gladly answer the survey if I knew what a set top box was.
What about TiVo and Amazon UnBox?
What about xbmc? I can stream music, movies and more from my mac, pc, or network drive. Also there are a ton of applications and custom skins so you can personalize the look and feel.
For now I'm sticking with the $20 cord I got that goes from laptop to TV, but maybe when things settle down.
And those of us using multipe systems. I've got an Xbox 360 for HD downloads, AppleTV, BlueRay and the obligatory DVR cable box.
Personally I'd buy most anything to keep away from reality programming.
