Here's all the components of our color and pattern-filled tabletop plan, made up of things we already own with just one item from my wishlist:
Top row, left to right:
1. Blu Dot Strut in Watermelon
2. Johnson Brothers Willow Plates
3. Pols Potten Blossom Glasses
4. Pottery Barn Vintage Floral Placemats in Blue
5. Peonies…
Bottom row, left to right:
6. …in Chinese tea tins, or…
7. …a bright yellow floral vase.
8. And the wishlist item for dessert - this new Heath set (designed for SFMOMA).
Now, to just figure out how to hang the artwork…

Shaw's Original Fir...
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. So glad you chose the watermelon over the ivory. It's perfection. Might I suggest you hang the artwork in a way that emphasizes the height of your bookcases? Vertically.
I would not have chosen the watermelon and now, I see that I would have been WRONG. It is SO pretty. I feel a paint attack coming on -- my black table might be turning watermelon colored (instead of yellow as previously conceived).
yeah looks great.
Amazing! So glad you opted for watermelon instead of ivory. Definitely the right choice!
Nice - I wouldn't have gone for watermelon because for large items I tend to play it safe in terms of color- but it looks great! A nice pop of unexpected color. So, when's the full house tour?? :)
LOVE! That is just such the perfect table, and that color looks so fab. I wanted one in the gray, but this has me rethinking things...
The watermelon color looks great, but I think you need to change up the color of your chairs now. The wood against the shiny pink is jarring. I can see them in yellow, green, white, or blue.
Janel-
That Heath Set in the matte red glaze red is no longer made - It was a special seasonal set for winter 2009/2010
There are a few pieces left of that color at their Sausalito store (perhaps the LA store and certain Heath retailers too) but when they're gone, they're gone.
Heath do still make the espresso cups - but only in the cocoa/white glaze:

Love the watermelon table! It really looks great against the white walls and dark floors.
However, I agree with sunset regarding the chairs. If they are not authentic series 7s, I would consider painting them white (or maybe another color, but you seem to be bringing a lot of different colors in with table settings).
Wowza, Janel, you hit this one out of the park! When can I come to eat?
Here's the thing: watermelon pink, pretty as it is, is a tricky color to pull off successfully, and context is everything. Seen against too much color, it can look like something out of Barbie's Dream House, and against all-white it can just read as Pepto-Bismol, but when it's handled as skillfully as this, it's a real winner.
What makes it work the nice balance of values in the background: your white walls & shelves keeps the overall effect bright & young, but the darker values of the books ground the whole ensemble, keeping it from all looking too young. There's a fine line between fresh & young &, well, juvenile. Some people to take it too far & end up in My Little Kitty territory.
This is just right, because the order & graphic clarity of the neutral background allow you go crazy on the tabletop, and I absolutely love the giddy, colorful mashup you've put together. All together, it's as bright as box of Licorice All Sorts--my favorite holiday-season candy. Blue Willow never looked so new.
A. table & chairs look great - that color combo is delicious
B. hang art horizontally - no need to accentuate height
C. blue willow rocks that room
Congratulations on your beautiful new home, Janel and family.
Totes glad over here that you did avoid "My Little Kitty" territory.
FanTASTIC! What a bold and fabulous choice. That table is to die for.
The table looks great. But I am a bit confused. I have seen Blu dot's Strut tables and the watermelon color is definitely more red than pink. In fact, not at all pink. True, no?
And I agree with sunset, the chairs may look better in a different color.
I'm so glad you went with the watermelon. The ivory would have disappeared in that room. And I think with all the color in the table setting that the neutral chairs are going to look just fine.
I love your pink table! Gorgeous!! Congrats on going with your gut!
Your aesthetic reminds me of that in Marie Claire Maison; you should check it out for ideas on how to coordinate. I think the blue & white china looks wonderful on the table!
I think that you are putting together an amazing dining room with really exciting elements -- not just the table and accessories, but the bookcases too.
The only thing that I think could be improved upon are the chairs. The chairs don't work -- not the colour, texture, or shape... I think it would look more dynamic and interesting with mix-matched vintage chairs... perhaps Thonet, perhaps something more anonymous... perhaps each a different colour, some with an antique patina, or perhaps all the same colour, but a different shape, or maybe just a white-and-wood chair, with more texture, patina and generous curves...
Here are some of the ideas that popped into my head:

I like the table and chairs, but not together. Personally I would have gone with the white table to compliment the chairs... or gotten white chairs for the pink table.
Janel, this looks a-MAZING! (But you knew it would. Did you really need our input?)
As for the chairs, I think they look great! I never even gave it a thought until I read the comments. Yes, you could have gone in a different direction, but I see nothing wrong with these chairs. They just sort of fade into the background and allow the table to (literally) shine. Just a gut reaction, but I think the pale would is a really nice choice. I like the mix of organic (wood) and punchy/shiny/industrial (watermelon table). Anything else might have been too much competition.
The only other chair that comes to mind (and I don't even know that it would be better) is the Wegner chair:

My point is, I think your choice of pale wood is spot on.
mschatelaine - the series 7 chairs are understated and great for this table..I don't think Janel is going to ditch them any times soon for something else $$$.
pale *wood*. Sorry!
Nice choice with the table--certainly something I might be too timid to buy, but love it in your space! The pale chairs go with it splendidly, I think....
That table is just fabulous! I'm not normally a huge fan of pink, but this is just so striking and elegant, and with the blue and white china will be brilliant! I would be thinking of a sort of sculptural flower like calla lillies or even tulips for putting on the table, more than the peonies... while they are beautiful, they might be a little rustic.
Tablescape tease! I was expecting a set-table money shot.
But your taste is, as always, impeccable!
Love it!
Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the comments and feedback.
I. LOVE. IT.
If only I could talk my boyfriend into the color. Oh! Maybe a really bright royal blue. Dreamy.
And your bookshelves are out of control. I love them.
