Is there anything sexier than a girl who knows her way around a guitar? Or a guy who can write a song? I mean, really write a song? I have to admit, I've always crushed out on musicians, because apart from having enviable talent, they're just cool. They tend to follow the beat of their own drum, sometimes to a fault. They also tend to live pretty colorful lives, and inhabit pretty intriguing bedrooms. Dig it.
Top Row:
1. Keith Richards bedroom at Villa Nellcôte during the recording of Exile on Mainstreet. The essence of every teen's idea of what it is to be a rock star, right? Cool dude with guitar, beautiful ladies lounging about, a mansion, and some unmentionable goings on, just to keep it rock n' roll.
2. David Bowie and Iman. The master bedroom at their villa in Mustique, featuring 19th-century Egyptian inspired furniture.
3. Johnny and June Carter Cash in their bedroom at their Hendersonville, TN. home.
4. Tom Waits during his early years (1975). The bedroom was part of "a hovel" of a place he rented.
5. Rihanna. Rihanna's bedroom in her Beverly Hills home.
Second Row:
6. Elton John. Elton John and David Furnish's 70's-inspired bedroom in their Los Angeles residence.
7. Charlotte Gainsbourg, the daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, in her bedroom.
8. Craig Finn from The Hold Steady. Finn wrote the music for his solo album "Clear Heart Full Eyes" at his bedroom desk.
9. Erykah Badu in her bedroom. Badu considers her Brooklyn apartment her "museum."
10. Frank Sinatra. Sinatra's bedroom at his Palm Springs compound, features shades of his favorite color, orange, and some meaningful possessions, including a statue of Saint Francis and a train set (who knew Sinatra would have a train set in his bedroom?!).
Third Row:
11. Kurt Cobain, photographed in his own bed.
12. Lady Gaga. Gaga's bedroom in her rented Bel Air villa.
13. Slash from Guns n' Roses. Slash's velvet-ensconced bedroom in his Beverly Hills Mansion. George Costanza would approve.
14. Tess Wiley, musician and songwriter formerly of Sixpence None the Richer. Wiley's bedroom at her flat in Germany.
15. Neko Case, solo performer and member of The New Pornographers. Case's bedroom in her Vermont home features an Ikea duvet and Eileen Fisher blanket.
Bottom Row:
16. Michael Stipe and Thomas Dozol in their NYC apartment.
17. Beach House members Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally in Baltimore.

I have to say, I don't love any of these. But each bedroom reflects very well its inhabitant.
If I had to choose, I'd say somewhere between David Bowie and Neko Chase.
Naturally, Slash's bedroom is by far the coolest. Although Johnny Cash's is pretty good too. I've always wanted a round bed.
I dunno what I hate more. Rihanna, her music or her bedroom. YECH! Most everyone else's are great and filled with personality.
I just don't believe that's Charlotte Gainsbourg's bedroom, but I do believe she'd like people to think it's her bedroom,
I think #11 should be Kurt Cobain and #12 Lady Gaga.
I actually like Rihanna's bedroom. So normal.
@ DJSHORTSHORTS: You're absolutely right! Thanks, fixed now :)
Its funny what interiors say about people.
Slashe's says he's an old lady who likes baroque.
Curt Cobain's clearly says he's a junkie.
Lady Gaga's bedroom looks like a personalityless hotel room, but at least she hired an interior designer ...which is more than we can say for Rihanna.
Erykah Badu and Elton John's are so sincere in expressing them as artists.
Are you kidding, the best one is Keith Richards. Because it's attached to a villa. In France. And that's Grahm Parsons sitting to the right of him. Sometimes it's about the history.
these are shockingly calm. i guess that's what a bedroom really needs to be though, right? place of refuge?
Keith Richards' and Bowie's are the only ones that seem interesting. All the rest are shockingly bland or in questionable taste.
It's interesting the emotions these evoke.
I immediately thought of Cobain's heroin issues and his depression, and Stipe's made me remember his social activism.
I like Lady Gaga's bedroom! :) Totally my colors.
I'm a musician and I get these rooms way more than the designer ones previously posted... most of them are pretty restful. Bedroom can be a thinking, songwriting and practicing place for a lot of people. Is for me.

No, there's not. That's why I had a huge crush on my husband, he played in one of my favorite bands, and I was just a fan. Now, 6 years later, we're married! Though he is away on tour for weeks at a time, it's all worth it.

He's playing Coachella this year, so if you're going please come by and check out his set!
Rihanna's is so simple, I love it. Did Johnny and June live in a yurt?
And Frank Sinatra... my Grandma's kitchen used that exact colour scheme (when I was a child her kitchen hadn't been redecorated for several decades) ... too funny!
And I LOVE Keith Richards' floor, isn't it fantastic?
The woman on the left in Keith Richards' bedroom needs a cheeseburger. And dear God Keith, wash your feet!
Doubt very much that is Keith's bedroom, but rather another part of the villa. Didn't he say in his book that he never let anybody into his bedroom while they all lived there ? way cool though. Have seen photo spread of
Bowie and Iman's place....it's fantastic.
I like gaga's. the fixed version, not the one where she's imitating cobain.
Really fun!
I'm from Seattle and the bed frame in Kurt Cobain's bedroom used to be commonly found for very little $ at flea markets in Aberdeen. A famliy friend bought one for me when I was a child. It was beautifully made, fit together cleverly. When I see Kurt's room, I think of local vintage shopping, not so much that he was a junkie. I guess I feel a little protective of his room!
Nobody does it like Keith :)
Craig Finn's looks like a bedroom from a house tour on AT. I bet it's in Brooklyn.
I thought they would have better taste then these with the money for designers to capture they personalities better. The only one's that I think works for their personalities are Lady Gaga, Slash's, Bowie's,Keith Richard's and Johnny Cash's are the best.
Agreed!
