Sasha intentionally blurred the current tenant's stuff
Hi AT:SF! I'm in dire need of some furniture and color advice to work with the wall colors in my new Dogpatch loft! My boyfriend and I are moving into a loft in the Dogpatch area of Potrero Hill. We're really excited to make the move from our small Los Angeles college apartment and into our first grown-up place. The loft is about 1000 sq. ft with 2 bathrooms (one on each floor), 16-18 ft high ceilings, concrete floors, and an open 2nd floor bedroom. It's basically our dream apartment except for the fact that we can't paint the walls! I have some pictures of the apartment, with the current tenant's stuff censored out, so you can sort of see the layout and color...
...So, my dilemma is that we had originally envisioned a minimalist modern styled loft with neutral walls, a mix of black and white modern European style furniture with clean lines and some cool accents scattered around, but now that we can't paint the walls, we're stuck!
Luckily, we haven't purchased any furniture yet and can work with the apartment. What kind of furniture and color combinations would work with the walls to still have that modern vibe? Would covering the grey wall with some fabric be weird since the wall is so big? What options do we have to still get the look we want but still work with what we're allowed to do with the apartment?
