AT:SF, I don't want to splurge on sheets before I get a queen-sized bed, but I need to do something about the color disaster on my full-sized bed. The green shams and quilt are a gift, and I'd like to keep them. The brown sheets, however, are totally replaceable...
...I live in an apartment, so I can't paint my walls and bedding is one of the few ways I can bring color into my room. Anyone have some suggestions on non-white sheets that would pull my bed together?
Best, Sophie

I don't see a problem with your color scheme. I think all you need is a nicely patterned pillow to pull these two colors together. But I would loose that neck pillow.
There are a number of fun sheets on www.garnethill.com
Check out the dots section. THey have a green comforter with a zinnia print that it fun. I personally think orange would be fun. It that's to loud try a suble pattern like the Hable Sand dollar on the same garnet hill site.
Take a look at Dwell Studio's bedding options. In particular, I can see the Draper Stripe sheets in Ash looking great with your quilt.
(Inspirational photo!)
How about a solid color print with a white ground? We don't always think of white as a color, but when mixed with two other solids, it's like the neutral that brings them together.
I love these from Garnet Hill, and they work with your gold chinese pillow case (though I'd recommend adding a zipper, snap tape, or some other closure to the open end).

All our sheets sets are white - they're easy to clean, don't fade, etc. When we want more color we have a collection of bright solid-colored pillow cases we will put on two of the four pillows on the bed.
Ikea has great sheets that are very inexpensive if you don't want to splurge. If you're tired of the quilt but don't want to get rid of it you can pick up one of their quilt covers and cover it up. We used to do that all the time. They have great throw pillows too!
My vote is for rust colored sheets.
Why not Pink or Lavender?
Try Overstock or Smartbargains.com - they're always having some sort of "special" on high-thread count sheet sets.
I definitely think a pattern with a white/off-white background would look cool. The "Hable Sand Dollar" one on Garnet Hill is definitely cute....I might have to get that myself. :)
Also check out Kama Design - their sheets come in 50 colors, they ship everywhere and are 100% cotton. best of all they're hand-done and won't fade!

If you are looking for something bright and cheery you can match the green with some orange and white, like this :

Or match the green with a bright turquoise and white like this:

Have you considered starching fabric onto your walls? I just finished a project where I starched a rich green and brown damask onto my walls and it is a totally different room now!
Hi mistyz23 - do you have any pictures/tips for your project? I've been interested in doing something like that for a while but can't think of how to do it with fabric - I am definitely a paper gal! Just find paper more comfortable to work with.
Thanks for your interest! I just took a pic for you of it. Please excuse the clutter, as it is all still a work in progress. I fell in love with some fabric that was just a couple inches too short at a bargain store, so I bought all I could get my hands on and used brown ribbon to add some extra inches of reach by going around the edges.

Hey mistyz23, great job on that wall. It looks incredible!
Thank you very much! It was pretty easy. Good luck if you try it!
