SF Good Questions: How Can I Build a Booth in My Kitchen?

AT:SF, Everyone knows the kitchen is the heart of the home, and it's a person magnet whenever I have people over. I currently have this charming faux Saarinen table and cafe chairs (both IKEA), but I want to have dinner parties for more than four people (there's no room for a dining table in my living room). I realized that this circular table results in loads of wasted space - this area is 8 ft. long by 3 ft. deep - and if I built something of a booth by putting a "C" shaped bench in there, I could fit around 8-10 people in here!

Now I'm obsessed - I'm on an Ikea budget and I'm renting anyways, but I would love to make better use of this rectangular space for not only larger dinner parties but also as a comfy place for lots of people to hang out. I envy the built-in booths my friends have in their kitchens, but building something like that is beyond me. So, I'm thinking I could perhaps get a custom "C"-shaped bench made - any ideas on that? I can't even find a suitable straight bench in the IKEA/West Elm/EQ3 etc. catalogues.

Thanks,

Matty
