AT:SF, Typically, I've fallen in love with something I could never afford! It's this Serge Mouille lamp, and it runs around three or four thousand dollars(!) Even a good sale or rusty version would be out of my price range. But I love it! Anyone seen anything similar at other stores? Not necessarily knock-offs, but something with rotating arms for the wall. I know someone on AT has seen something! Thanks yet again, ATers!
-Andy
Andy,
We don't recall ever seeing another wall lamp with two rotating arms. (We don't suppose you'd settle for the two Tolomeo Lamps in today's Scavenger?)
Can any readers help?

I would also love to know a less expensive alternative to the Prove lamp...

anyone?
Maybe with good photos and measurements this could be commissioned for far less than 3-4K?
I love this lamp as well, so gorgeous
can make a room
Here are some links. They're not Mouille, but they have rotating arms (or similar) I had these bookmarked; I've been searching also!... I'll be checking back on this post for suggestions.

I'm trying this
This one is HUGE, be sure to check out the alternate image to view a pair in a dining area:

I can see that one as being a total life saver in very tall or wide rooms where a ceiling fixture or floor lamps are undesirable.
And this is also a possible alternative for Taka.
Say, how about this?:

Oops, when I opened the comments section and started looking for lamps, Martita's post wasn't there. I duplicated the lamp Martita already found, in the second link for 1800lighting. Sorry about that.
Thanks all,
I was also thinking of having someone weld and manufacture one like the Prouve. Get it hand crafted...
Wait, here're a couple more.....

david weeks does similar work; I am sure he is cheaper, but not inexpensive.
he has is a similar light (not featured on his own website); just google images 'david weeks lighting', and you'll see what I mean.
...actually, the lighting is on david weeks' website, it is just difficult to get a look at it -- when you mouse over it, the original image comes back in a flash...

Rather than absolute custom, there is the option of using a wall-mount boom and having a light assembly attached:

True blue, you are absolutley right. That is a great idea.
Monika, David Weeks stuff is right up my alley. Too bad about the flash images. You cant see anything.
Andy, check out this blog-post

(I am obsessed with serge mouille too; fortunately, there is no where in my house to put any of his lights...)
You can find views of Weeks' lamps here:

But his work isn't cheap...
Just FYI, a vintage version of this would not cost less, it would cost considerably more. Like in the range of $10,000 - $20,000. Even rusty!
These are amazing comments! I'm thinking I have an industrial design friend who's interested in doing something inspired by Mouille. Glad I could get a conversation going!
