AT:SF, Looking for temporary wall options in San Francisco. I see an old post from 2006 -- it references the many options available to New Yorkers. I am wondering if anything has surfaced in San Francisco. Thanks for your help.

Deb,
We have yet to find a local company. Anyone else?

Ercol Bar Stool
Cryptic.
Have you considered checking out Office Furniture supply stores, as they make "walls" all the time, like this place:

Don't freak out because of the words "office" and "cubicle", just look...

Those look really nice. Get them out of the office environment and into a home, and it will make all the difference. Just like getting your computer or desk out of the office and into the home makes a difference.
Lightweight stuff:

Stuff on wheels:

Says they do rental. But I am also just guessing that they want folks to be big corporations and not someone who wants just something small. HOWEVER, call them. They have an office in S.F. and there are probably TONS of office type places that would have those kinds of products you could buy.
Maybe even buy on the cheap if they got banged in a shipment.
I don't know what the wall is FOR. If you need it for a huge area or a small area. If you want to define a space, or make it practically sound and light proof from another part of the same room.
If you can get down to Milpitas, they have a Used area too, and here's the link:

HEY! They have some neat stuff there, in the used area. But no walls, unfortunately. So, I'm back on their main page.
This is a neat product, Insta-wall!

Maybe something there will work. I have a million ideas running through my head now. I wonder if I could be a contender in Small, Cool next year by only using used office furniture?

I have a couple of extra walls in my apartment - want to come get them?
