Aromatic Charcoal Sachets at Container Store

10-23-08-charcoal.jpg

We usually associate sachets with a strong floral or cedar scent in the unmentionables drawer, but generally speaking, we think the detergent smell does just fine, thanks. Our shoe storage, on the other hand, could use some help. But somehow lavender and "country rose" seems a little out of place there...

These sachets are made from sustainable bamboo charcoal in vented plastic balls. Must like a water filter, the odors are trapped in the charcoal, rather than masked. From the title we wonder, though, if another scent has been added as well, but for our shoes' sake we hope it's just the smokey smell of burnt wood.

Hmmm - Sustainable bamboo charcoal in a ball made from petroleum products. Doesn't seem to add up, does it?

I'll stick w/ cedar blocks and shoehorns, Thanks.

Are they refillable? I can't imagine the charcoal to last forever...
