Amazing Chandeliers by Eva Menz

03.02.09_Chandelier_01.jpgThere is something very inspiring, beautiful and romantic about chandeliers. We are always in search of vintage chandeliers whenever we go to flea markets. A simple room can be completely transformed with an addition of a chandelier. It creates a focal point and it can add style and character. Eva Menz makes stunning custom chandeliers. We came across these on the Oh Joy! blog and completely fell in love with the details of Eva's work. Her sculptural chandeliers "are an eclectic mix of jewels for the home. Each and every one crafted with valuable and rare materials in an often painstaking manner." Check out more of Eva's amazing creations on her website.

I would have liked to see the wooden one lit - it isn't shown on her website either. That seems like something I might try to make.

Not only are these gorgeous, they look like they could be approximated by some nifty DIY'er. I'd love to find a way to recreate the wooden one or either of the two plastic(?) poof balls. Alas, I'm creatively challenged, so I'll just wait and hope for a future How To.

Oh! I just realized the white poof is made of origami cranes. Dang, that's swell.

The red one is made of origami lilies (you can see a folding pattern at http://www.origami-fun.com/origami-lily.html ).

I ADORE the one in the 3rd and 4th photos, it looks like crystal drops of rain frozen in the act of falling.
