Reader Ann (in Reno) sent us in pursuit of a projection clock after she professed love for hers in a comment last week.
Projection clocks throw a digital readout of the time onto the ceiling above your bed, or wherever you direct the projector.
These clocks are a brilliant solution for the bedside tables of contact lens wearers, who otherwise have to fumble for their glasses in the dark. A sleepy pawing of the largish projection button, and voila, the time is projected onto the ceiling. You can quickly confirm that it's way too early to be awake with a minimum of rousing effort.

we have one of these. i think we got it at sharper image, but i could be wrong. i like it well enough. but my eyes are so bad that even with the projected number a foot high, i still have to squint to read them.
if anyone knows of one that offers a pleasant alarm sound... especially if it has a fairly robust alarm setting (eg: m-f yes, no weekends) then i'd like to know about it.
i have a clock with the nature sounds but haven't seen one with projection.
David, I got lucky and mine projects numbers big enough that I can read them. Can you project it onto a closer wall instead of the ceiling maybe? Sometimes I knock mine into projecting onto the inside of my headboard and then I can see it really well. But mainly I love it because it doesn't have to glow all night long, it only lights up when I need it (I am a fan of the pitch-dark sleeping area).
I love my projection alarm clock by Homedics. The numbers are large and u can point it own the wall if u like. It offers spa sounds, radio, and a ipod stand. Puchased online from Best Buy.
