George Nelson Night Clock

2007_03_02_nelson.jpgYesterday we blogged projection clocks. Today we have something for the more design-driven among you: the George Nelson Night Clock, an authentic reissue from the Vitra Design Museum.

Night Clock, of brass and acrylic, is one of several handsome designs being manufactured from Nelson's original specs. You can see all of them here.

Fashioned from maple, cherry, and brass or lacquered metal, these small clocks will style up your nightstand or desk, while the pedestal bases make them easier to spot from across a room.

When I first saw this I thought "what a nice looking piece...I'd like to have that". But then I read further and saw the price!?! There is no way in the whole-wide-world I would ever pay $350 for a clock. And I am someone who really digs design and will pay more for interesting items. Wow, that's a lot of money for something that is essentially just a clock.
