Radios are fast becoming quaint throwbacks to a simpler time -- who wants to sit through commercials when our favorite song is always on our iPod? -- but a small one to play news radio in the kitchen or bathroom is still nice.

Radios are fast becoming quaint throwbacks to a simpler time -- who wants to sit through commercials when our favorite song is always on our iPod? -- but a small one to play news radio in the kitchen or bathroom is still nice.

And if playing the radio is all it needs to do, the nostalgic styling and fantastic price of these radios can add a nice touch to a shelf or countertop.
$25 each, here.
I love these...so attractive.

Wow, just today at lunch I was searching online for exactly this!! I realized this morning when I wanted to listen to the radio morning show, that my only radio is on my alarm clock, so I wanted to buy a small radio for the mornings and I knew I wanted a retro looking one. I only managed to find 2 I liked in my price range on Amazon, but I'm so happy you posted this! I really like these a lot and they're a great price!

Just be forewarned, they're really, really small. I checked the dimensions and that one in the photo above is only about 2.5 inches tall, 5 inches long, and less than 2 inches deep. It makes the price seem like less of a deal... but they really are attractive.

And by "the photo above", I mean the first photo. But the other two are around the same size.

Also some great, well-designed radios in the NPR Shop (http://shop.npr.org/category/show/3252). And -- bonus -- NPR has no commercials to sit through! Just their discreet little "announcements."

I just got my husband the small tivoli audio radio that's popping up everywhere for our kitchen. It's got a nice look, a great sound, but importantly, an outlet for an ipod jack, so we get the best of both worlds.
