apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Boiler Shop Transformation

A 48 square meter boiler shop was completely transformed by an architect Nicolas Vignot into this amazing apartement. We love all the original elements that add industrial quality to otherwise very light and elegant space which is also used as a photo studio. Check out more photos after the jump...

We are always looking for creative ways to divide an open space and create additional rooms. Beautifully designed pivoting glass panels allow for the natural light from the windows to fill the whole apartment and provide privacy when needed.

We stumbled upon this amazing transformation on Automatism. The apartment was originally featured on Marie Claire Maison.

I love the kitchen. The white is very eye pleasing. Love the bedroom also.

The lucite shelves in the kitchen are fantastic. Bed on the floor, not so much.

Love love love. This is a fantastic space. And I agree . . the lucite shelves look WONDERFUL. The framing of the whole house is what's really got me. . . they're not the same, but they tie in together to create this seamless look . . . very nice!!!

Thought I was imagining things but both the folding doors and the kitchen are so Japanese. It's very nostalgic of my little kitchen while I was living overseas, nothing overtly "Japanesey" about it but so reminiscent of the philosophy of small and detailed.

I like bed mattresses placed directly on the floor. Makes me want to just go in, fall and relax. Nice accent color for bedding too.
