Modern Seattle Live/Work Loft

Driving by this new building for sale in central Seattle, we couldn't help but stop and take notice. Upon further investigation, we learned that aside from its good looks, it is also built green and zoned for live/work.

Designed and built by Pb Elemental Architecture, it also has some great features such as heated bamboo floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and a rooftop deck. It would be an ideal home, studio and gallery space for a lucky artist or two.

I recognize the mural as John Osgood's from Bherd Studios. The other side of the building has the rest of this great artwork--stylishly fitting into this live/work space.

Yes, John has alot of great murals, I believe he works along side with PB as one of the main mural artists.

i love this type of architecture and materials, but is this a model unit? It doesn't look inviting at all, rather like living in a prison cell or something.

sexy!

heated plyboo floors, however, tend to crack and warp over time.

One part of me really, really likes the minimalism. The other part of me wonders, 'Who the hell can live like that?'

I had a loft before. It was spare, clean but comfortable and inviting... not sterile. I see these floors and break out in cold sweats about the amount of time and effort to clean 'em!

I feel the same way about Zac's Raw House in Australia [ http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/la/zacs-raw-house-melbourne-100335 ]. I mean, where's the personality? I aspire to that level of simplicity but you can't live like that in your MAIN house; your vacation house, maybe. Or am I missing the point? The house is the personality and the furnishings are just... gravy??

Great space. It's open and nice big windows. These architects do such amazing work! I love it!
