FrameCo's Smart Framer™ V2.5

It was only a matter of time
before someone figured out that framing is a service that can be fulfilled through the Internet.

FrameCo's web site includes a neat little app called Smart Framer™ V2.5, which allows you to upload, size, and crop an image for framing, and then choose mats and moldings. We tried it out with a snapshot the other day. The process was super easy and allowed many changes and re-do's. Our grand total for a fully-mounted and framed 11"x 8" image was less than $30.

Our only disappointment with Smart Framer™ V2.5 is the lack of simple, modern moldings available, because we generally like to keep frames simple, to showcase what's inside them.

That said, we'd use this convenient service to mount and frame photos or other digital art that's not too precious. (For something really special, we'd want to specify UV-coated glass, an option that SmartFramer does not offer.)

Smart Framer™ V2.5 is here.

Check out framesbymail.com and pictureframes.com. I've used both before, and while they don't have the swankiest interfaces they have an excellent selection of frames.
