We’re big fans of everything artichoke-related (including, perhaps most importantly, the vegetable itself, alongside a nice little dish of melted butter). That’s why we were so tickled to come across this folding stool from Urban Outfitters. The graphic take on the artichoke print keeps it from feeling like it should be confined to the kitchen. Details after the jump…

The black-and-white bamboo print option is also nice (if less artichoke-fabulous). With its neutral color scheme and cute, old-fashioned hairpin legs, the stool strikes us as a good fit for almost any room (not just the hipster dens for which it's evidently intended).

The stool wins convenience points for folding up flat, making it a great choice for bonus seating in a small space. Since we haven’t seen it in person yet, we can’t vouch for how sturdy it is. Has anyone else had the pleasure?
The Artichoke Wire Stool is available for $48 at Urban Outfitters.
Would not have known that was artichoke.
And the base looks like it once held up an aquarium.

I kind of like it. I would have to see it in person. UO is not really known for quality.

Can you say "Made in China"?
I'd rather find a groovy 50's vintage stool at a flea market, spraypaint it and cover the seat w/ a fabric remnant - probably for 1/2 the cost.

Artichoke or not, it looks like my ass would fall right through and I'd be stuck in (as Patrick called it) an aquarium base.

Like the pattern on the fabric and the shelf at the bottom idea but the actual material and construction looks as flimsy as Blago's defense sounds.

I bought this stool with a different pattern and I reinforced the screws with heavy duty glue as it wasnt that sturdy, this seemed to help. However, one of the four screws included was damaged, but easily replaced with another screw I had on hand. I wouldnt have people sit on it, but it is serving its purpose as a space to stack books.

bepsf, Urban Outfitters might as well be called Cheap Labor. It seems as if all of their stuff is made in China and India.
