We're hearing good things about Artesanias, over in Cow Hollow.
From humble beginnings as an importer of furniture from South America, this place now sells a wide array of traditional and some contemporary furniture, lighting, and home accessories. But the real deal is on Pottery Barn- and Crate & Barrel-like upholstered and custom pieces, including sofas, armchairs, love seats and sectionals.
The custom upholstery is manufactured in LA and the "designer look" pieces come from Van Gogh Designs in British Columbia. All pieces ship within 2 - 7 weeks of your order, which is much faster than the typical 10-12 weeks it'll take Room & Board, Crate & Barrel, or Pottery Barn.
There's a wide array of fabric options and prices are great: custom designs start at $1099 and are generally about a third less than what you'd pay at a place like Pottery Barn.

Hi! I live right down the street from this store - the guy who works there/owns it, is totally awesome. He has such an amazing sense of style as well! I am yet to purchase anything (I am on a VERY tight budget - Craigslist is pushing it), but from comparing home decor in other stores, his prices are more reasonable. For those of you who don't live in the neighborhood, this store is worth the trek over. If you don't find anything, at least you can walk up to Union for a glass of wine! :-)
