Just looking at the bed makes us feel claustrophobic and tense. But perhaps that's where this art succeeds: in its power to make us feel this so strongly when simply looking at a photo of the work. For more work by Wilcox, click here.
Yikes. That's like Russian roulette of the sleep world.

Hasn't this same post been on here, like 3 times in the past year? Creeps me out every time.

I personnally don't believe the mattress is made to show limited space, as much as it simply represents the sleeper, as in the user becomes the object....

What a terrible waste of materials. I hope they recycled that stuff into something useful.

i kind of get it as art; as a bed: ridiculous

art is supposed to be ridiculous. that's what makes it art!

ah! I sleep exactly in that position, so I felt a sort of identification.
I prefer having other space around me though!

1. Ditto on the hideous
2. That's art?
3. Not possible to sleep comfortably in it. Useless.
4. Not cute, really!
5. The maker of this bed perhaps should consider a career in plumbing!

This is ridiculous. Art? Whatever!

These materials don't need to be reused. They are already serving a purpose as art. Who would look at a work by Picasso and say "what a waste of canvas they should recycle that"?
The work certainly seems to be provoking discussion. Isn't that worth something?
