We love that inexpensive, versatile, and readily available paper has become the new medium of choice for so many talented artists, including our new fave Julene Harrison. Her amazingly detailed works of exacto-cut paper leave us awestruck, and now you can have one custom made just for you...
As Julene reminds us on her website, the traditional gift for a first wedding anniversary is paper. We can't think of a better way to commemorate that occasion (or most other occasions, really) than with one of these amazing pieces. Starting at around $100, they're a true steal considering the amount of attention to detail, skill, and time each piece necessitates. You can ogle more of the artist's inspiring work at MadeByJulene. Oh my... this absolutely extraordinary. Someone marry me and then buy me one in a year. :P

Absolutely awesome! I've been a fan of papercuts for decades ... so many cultures have a tradition going way back, originally done by farmers indoors over the winter months with shears used for sheep in the warmer months. I wonder what particular tradition inspired Julene?

Oooooh. I want the top one. . . just need to change the dates. That was the first dance song at our wedding! To late for the paper anniversary, though.

When I think of how I'd rip one of those near the end of making one!!! Impressive and beautiful craftsmanship!

I love that song!
Those are impressive. They look like a lot of work that I would never have the patience to make. That would be a cool idea for a first anniversary gift; I'd like it.

This is so so cool! I can just imagine it on a pretty colored matting, in a simple frame. Love it.

Good Lord....these are incredible. I love the 'Family Tree' on the site. I also think it's so cool how the extra scrap pieces are used on the side as additional art.

Oh Wow! This is the one I custom ordered for my friend's wedding! They got married in Negril, Jamaica, so I figured it was fitting. Julene is absolutely fantastic.

Oh wow! This is the piece that I had made for my friend's wedding in Jamaica last weekend. It is absolutely incredible in person. Julene is amazing!

I wonder if she could work her same magic with Tyvek. Then I wouldn't worry about accidentally ripping it. Hmm.
