David Ichioka's Sleep Picture Series

2-4 sleep1.png

We're told that as little kids we flopped around like a fish out of water. As teenagers we would wake up with our feet on the pillow and our head against the wall. Nowadays we're often accused of rolling the blanket around us in a vain attempt at stealing all the warmth. Not a pretty picture of a sleeper, eh?

David Ichioka's time-lapse photo series follows an entire sleeping night in the life of one of his models. After glimpsing some of their antics, we don't feel like such cruel bed-wranglers.

We might hang these in the bedroom for some sleep inspiration...makes our feet on the pillow thing seem pretty mild in the end!

Check out more of the series here.

Looking at those made me ... really relaxed. The little kids cracked me up--it's like they're doing gymnastics in their sleep. I envy those who were able to lie so still while they slept. I spin like a chicken on a rotisserie. =\

That woman sharing her sheets, cover, AND pillow with her (admittedly cute) dog is just...That's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

If it's your own dog, the disgusting factor goes way down. MY dog can share my bed, my food, lay on my laundry, but it would be gross if any other dog tried.

I'm surprised that they moved around so much...I shift a couple times during the night - they seem like they change every 20 mins.

You have a very wonderful life if seeing a woman sleeping with her dog is the most disgusting thing you've ever seen. snicker snicker...
I would actually love to see how I sleep because sometimes I wake up feeling like I was doing jazzercise all night.

Loved the dog. There are times when my seems to be pushing me off my bed. 99% sure those striped sheets are Dwell-they may be discontinued.

SO CUTE!!

I am looking at getting a doggy and I am campaigning (as yet unsuccessfully) to let the doggy inside. Not on carpets and definately not in our bed but that's not to say that it's "disgusting". I just know that my dogs will have a yard to run around in.It's like little children... you bath them before you let them in the bed don't you... well this dog probably lives in an apartment with no dirt in site... so he's probably just as clean as you or me. :)

Clearly Talloush has never had his/her own dog.
