Everday Still Lifes of Home by Jan Groover

When we posted on the beauty of kitchen utensils during kitchen and bath month, two readers tipped us off to the work of photographer Jan Groover. Her work is primarily still lifes of the everyday and we're loving it. See some more after the jump...

Groover is an American photographer but currently makes her home in France. She got her bachelor's degree at Pratt in NYC and her MA at Ohio State University. We love her studied, artful looks at scenes we might all see within our own homes if we're looking closely enough. Read more on Groover right here. (thanks, witchbaby and crash!)

Jan Groover's work sells for 20K and up per print at her gallery, Janet Bordn, Inc (NYC). For cryin' out loud it has NOTHING to do with every day life. She's a Guggenheim judge for god's sake.

Groover's "Untitled (peppers, cone, knife)" has long been a favorite.

Medusa12120 - No, Jan Groover's work iteself is not "everyday", but the content often is.

regina, I agree. While Groover's prints are, for most of us, unobtainable, perhaps they can serve (no pun intended) as inspiration to others.
