A few years ago while we were wandering through a street fair, we were stopped dead in our tracks by vibrantly colored photographs -- they really stood out from all the drek that's usually for sale at those events. The photographer was
Lisa Kristine, who's based in San Francisco and specializes in images of remote indigenous people.
Lisa Kristine's photographs are sold through her
Migration Photography website, and her
Two Visions galleries in Mendocino and Sonoma.
But the reason we're posting about her photos now is because she's selling at the
Connoisseurs' Marketplace in Menlo Park this weekend (see tomorrow's Events Calendar for more information). If you're in the area, you should check them out.
Her work is exquisitely strong, yet gentle, and speaks volumes.....

I have been moved by Lisa in her gallery and bought a few prints for family that I knew would be as touched. I unfortunately, am disconnected and there are images that I found....lost...I'm still trying to find. "Five monks" haunts me, and that is probably because that is the one piece I did not buy. WHY!?!?! I did not buy a piece for me...and am now feeling lonely...empty...
I just had the privilege of viewing her work in Scottsdale, AZ at the Scottsdale Arts Festival. I am inspired and in awe of her amazing imagery. Lisa's work made the hair on my arms stand up.
