Though cocktails are our beverage of choice, living in Portland (aka “Beervana”) means that we’ve grown to love a good brew. But whatever to do with all those bottlecaps? See how one local haunt put them to artistic use after the jump.

We spotted this collage de caps at N. Portland’s Vendetta. As many times as we’ve been there, we were surprised that we hadn’t noticed it before, but once we started looking, we just couldn’t stop.
Up close, it was a paean to Oregon beers; we spotted yellow and lime caps from Full Sail, orange and black from Widmer Brothers and green from Rogue Ales. All together, we can see a woman, though – to be entirely honest – we’re not exactly sure who it is. Your guess?
Nice. I'm also a huge fan of the beer bottle cap wall outside at Brooklyn's Barcade. I'm sure a better search around flickr would yield some closer and more detailed shots, but here's a nice whole-piece pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8885668@N02/1465474354/

Oooh, maybe someone reading this can help me- a long time ago (a few years, i think) I saw a photo in an interiors magazine of a house that had a piece of bottlecap artwork in it- it was a detail of the Birth of Venus...I've been trying to find it ever since and am obviously goggling the wrong thing, because nothing is coming up...anyone remember what I'm talking about??

Ah, New Belgium, how I miss thee. Undergrad in Fort Collins, CO got me hooked, but it's not to be found in Michigan. I hear they distribute in Chicago. Fat Tire is easy to find, but Sunshine Wheat eludes me. Anyone know of liquor stores in the Chicago area that carry Sunshine Wheat? I would definitely make the drive to the windy city if I knew I could get a couple cases.
