Pillows and Prints from Kate Durkin

This weekend we made our way to Indie Mart - a monthly event featuring art, crafts, and various other handmade goods (cupcakes!) sold by Bay Area locals. We're looking forward to May when the event will again move outside rather than being held in the cramped quarters of the Independent, but we were happy to have braved the crowds when we spotted Kate Durkin's booth...

030909 durkin pillows.jpg We'd seen Durkin's artwork on AT before and been impressed, but didn't know she also made these sweet, hand-embroidered pillows. And her "good times are coming" print (at top) is a prediction anyone would appreciate receiving, no?

Ugh, took me about 30 seconds to figure out what that was saying. Maybe it's because I'm bilingual and sometimes have a hard time figuring out what language I'm supposed to be using, but I kept seeing "Good Time Sare Goming" (because of the bird on C).

jajaja I felt stupid when I was seeing that exact same thing "Good Time Sare Goming".

But I guess it's true, when you speak different languages the mind starts looking in different dictionaries jejeje
