Making the rounds on the internets recently is this light fixture from Refined Sugar Studios. Cavities and hyperactivity be damned, colorful cereal package design makes great kitsch art, especially when illuminated.

i wish i had thought of this for my previous apartment. the kitchen was lit by very office-like flourescent lights. this would have been a fun alternative to rice paper.
