Fun & Playful: Sarah Applebaum's Art

We have seen Sarah's art before in one of our house tours. This time around we explored her portfolio in much more detail. We collect vintage blankets for their fun designs and unusual color combinations, but Sarah's art surpassed what we thought was possible. Check out more photos after the jump...

Her art would be amazing in a children's room! It is so unusual and out of this world. Its sculptural quality creates a fantasy world that would be fun to explore. We love that it is mostly made out of blankets and pillows. Some of her pieces would look amazing on a patio, in a living room, or any lounge area. As unusual as they are, they could be amazing accents of color in any room. They would look especially gorgeous in a mostly white interior. We also like more structured pieces made of felt. A good example is the pistol.

We came across Sarah's art on ffffound. To see more of Sarah's art, go to her portfolio site.

Those who like this should definitely go see the Nick Cave show at Yerba Buena Center in the city - it's like the wearable version of this but even more wild and out there. Truly a fabulous show only here until July 5th.
