Thirty-One!
Portland

8-1-thirtyone.jpgLast year’s crowds at Thirty! were so insane that we didn’t even bother getting out of the car, much less cruising aimlessly for a spot to park. Fair warning: we imagine we’ll run into exactly the same dilemma this year. Nonetheless, the annual art show (this year is Thirty-one!) has a clever catch -- thirty-one artists paint thirty-one paintings in thirty-one days.

8-1-thirtyone2.jpgToday, the 961 new paintings will be unveiled. Nine hundred and thirty 7" x 7" paintings will be for sale for thirty-one dollars each and thirty-one larger paintings (20" x 20") will be silently auctioned. The opening bid? Thirty-one dollars, of course.

8-1-thirtyone3.jpgCatch the show at OM Tradition Arts, 14 NE 10th Ave. The preview begins at 3 p.m. and the sale starts at 7 p.m. If you can’t make it tomorrow, the leftovers will reappear at a "Hidden Gems" show on Aug. 3rd from 6-8pm.

Bring cash; a portion of the proceeds go to Artists for the Arts. Find out more about “Thirty-one!” here.

wait, why aren't the larger paintings 31" x 31"?
