This week, I was reminded that AT:SF readers are rock stars. Really. There's been a lot of Fall Cure-related activity, which is motivating me to get down to work in my own home. So thank you to everyone who has been posting comments and photos on AT:SF and in our Flickr group. (Don't forget to also tag photos with "apartmenttherapycuresf".) If you've been on the fence about whether or not to join us, it's not too late!
Here's what some folks have been up to:
• Aphrochic is addressing flow issues and adding flowers
• Strata Chalup is also working on the two F's this week
• alana in canada is on her second Cure and blogging about it
• pdxcarrie's dad helped her get started with a clean slate
• wig3000 has her A and B to-do lists ready to go
• oaktown loves apttherapy is focusing on her bedroom
• recordcat is hoping to cure those bare walls
• plexilindsey is going to paint and rearrange
• aftuba has cleaning and decluttering on her mind
• jeaninesw is making her master bedroom a priority
• heps1 is transforming her office into a nursery
• runtararun's dining room is looking awesome (see the photo after the jump)

I'm enjoying the good company here. Thanks for the inspiration, AT:SF!

So, what's everyone up to this weekend?
I was going to dismantle a bookcase and varnish the stair case landing...but the hardworking husband is going to work on Sunday--so that may have to wait.
I think I'll get started on my kitchen. LOTS of cleaning to do in there--including the ceiling, the floor, the fridge and stove.
or--as it promises to be beautiful (and there won't be many of those left in the Land of Wind and Snow) we may just...do...nothing. Maybe we'll go say goodbye to the Canada Geese down in the park.

Oh this is making me feel so far behind, and it's only the first week! But I can't upload my pictures until this weekend. Then again, I'm doing the Deep Treatment, so I'm not expecting any big changes (yet).

I really need to pull my style tray together, plus I want to put away the stuff i've had still hanging out in boxes in the living room/study. I'm thinking of checking out the Dwell show too. does anyone have any recommendations of stuff to see there?

i still need to make my lists and then get started! this week got away from me :(

recordcat: i'm not going to the show, but if i were to, i would check out the beholder exhibit (in the new art gallery section). and i think dwr is going to be offering tours of their airstream and kithaus. if you end up going, please report back and tell us the good and the bad!
mace elaine & pdxcarrie: i'm with you both. i feel like i'm playing catch-up, too.
alana: i'm going to spend part of the weekend finishing up the reading assignment and clearing out the clutter in my closets (the ones not used for storing clothes).
wig3000: i love the snapshot of the irises in your dining room.

I just got the book from the library yesterday (finally) and am realizing that some of the past Cures have really helped (I'm finally happy with the flow in my house and there are few places I don't spend time so it was tough to find someplace to sit for 10 minutes). I have been doing a bunch of cleaning and reorganizing, particularly in the kitchen, and I am now debating paint colors for what little wall is visible in there. I have a swatch of greens that I love, I used the darkest one on the entryway and a middle one in my office. I am thinking of sneaking the lightest green into the kitchen, the walls right now are grubby white and the pale green might enhance the tile color (or something, we'll see). I'm going to end up doing a bit of a one-room cure in there just because it is the most miserable room in the house. Bleah. Everything else is just cleaning and decluttering for the most part, I am trying to cut back on house shopping (unless I find something perfect, of course).

It was great to meet many of you on Wednesday and put some pictures to names.
I made the first pass on my budget last night. Not as much as I'd like, but it'll still be enough to get stuff done. Actually, knowing me, it'll be a challenge to makes some decisions and spend it!
Up next this weekend: going to my favorite furniture store (or maybe two!), and pulling that crazy style tray together. I think it's going to require a trip to the hardware or fabric store for some color samples.
I'm not sure how all of this is going to fit into my already crazy weekend. Wish me luck!

jeaninesw and anh-minh and all those who were there on wednesday, sorry to have missed you!
recordcat, we aren't going to the dwell on design exhibit after all, but if you go, please do let us know if you see anything you particularly like.
alana, we're taking the weekend off. if you're having good weather, perhaps you should do the same. it's been an eventful week and i've now completed the week one assignments. today, our new leaning mirror from ikea fell over and shattered upon our vacuum cleaner as i was working on the floor. no cats or people were injured in the process, thank goodness. how do folks secure those? along with the floor cleaning, i went to the sf flower mart for the first time in eons, sat in our entry for 10 minutes, tossed some items (this was the most difficult), created an extensive repair list, and organized and thought about cleaning supplies. phew! we're having friends over for a bbq tomorrow and we'll be entertaining in a sparkly home.

Wow, wig, that's awesome.
I'm not doing anything so organized as "The Cure" but I am helping my Mom declutter and as space opens up, decorate her place. That's what I'll be doing Saturday.
I tried sitting for 10 minutes today in the basement. Failed miserably.

I'm focusing on my bedroom, as I live with roommates and it's the only part of the house I have full autonomy over. :)
My book isn't actually here yet, so thus far I've mostly just started on my de-cluttering (I've made $200 selling stuff!) and I finally bought a plant for the oatmeal tin I'd been planning to make a planter out of for months. I also reduced my enormous stack of unread magazines by getting rid of all the ones from before July.

Great progress, dancingspring.
Even though it is a gorgeous day, I washed out the fridge and applied some stain to the little round table. Good to do that on a day I can fully open the windows!
Husband is working, so I thought I would too.

Someone on flickr mentioned she has a problem with her bathroom fan. The husband and replaced tthe one in our bathroom this spring. Here's some info on them that may be of interest to others:

CHAOS.
That is what my kitchen looks like right now. I'm only 1/3rd of the way through, am just pulling everything out, cleaning, and then will decide what goes back in, and what doesn't.
My fridge looks gorgeous, though. So nice to get all those old containers out. Love having "permission" to throw out the mustard that I haven't used in over a year.
My problem isn't getting rid of stuff, rather, it is having too much to get rid of! Where do I put it all until it is out the door?
And, I finally posted my pics, big relief. I would really appreciate any feedback, btw! While I'm happy with my living room, and my bathroom is okay, other than some organizing, I don't know what I'm doing with the other rooms....
Here's to a great week ahead!!

jillian, I just posted some thoughts regarding your bedroom on flickr. Good work in your kitchen! As I'm seriously considering sanding the kitchen floor, I'll be just cleaning the fridge and stove and tossing food and other kitchen items. Heh, regarding 'just'...my frame of reference has definitely shifted.

Thanks for the bathroom fan information, Alana! That page gets bookmarked for our bathroom renovation.

You're welcome wig. We lived with the noisiest fan for years not reaslising we could do anything about it! It isn't whisper quiet now, but it is so much more tolerable!
I've been out collecting paint chips and bought four second hand chairs for the dining room. My husband is regluing and rescrewing them.....and I'll sand and paint them. I need another project like a hole in the head.

I also need a new bathroom fan, but for some reason I'm feeling nervous about asking my landlord about it. I'm actually considering just not using that fan and getting a cute antique looking fan to put right near the window. Less noise and cute to boot.

Thanks wig for the ideas!! And for the props on the kitchen.
Good luck sanding the kitchen floor. Seriously, just cleaning the fridge and stove and tossing food and other kitchen items will be a job in itself. And will still make you feel great. I can't believe how much I like looking in my fridge now. I arranged the shelves so they are useful to me, and don't feel bogged down by the guilt of unused food items...

jillian--your landlord should thank you for the suggestion. Moisture build up from an inefficient fan causes all kinds of problems to the walls and ceilings, etc.
